Duncan Scarry Long Biography

With over 15 years of successful traditional and online advertising experience, Duncan Scarry offers automotive dealers and manufactures insight into the most effective and progressive automotive marketing methods.  He is the founder of two of the fastest growing automotive advertising agencies in the country: Moore & Scarry Advertising and Haystak Digital Marketing.  Duncan currently serves as Haystak Digital Marketing's senior director and general manager, and chairman of Moore & Scarry Advertising.  A widely sought after presenter and advisor, Duncan has spoken at Google, Toyota Motor Sales, Automotive News, numerous Digital Dealer Conferences, the Digital Summit at Mountain View and more.  His passion is increasing automotive sales through strategically combining the strengths of traditional and new media.  

Duncan spent many years in leadership positions with nationally known agencies, including the Ad Team, garnering significant automotive retail marketing experience in a variety of roles.  He then recognized the need for an agency focused exclusively on automotive retail and partnered with Darren Moore in 2001 to form Moore & Scarry Advertising, a full-service advertising agency and audiovisual production company. 

The agency grew quickly, more than 100% in some years, as its reputation for service and results spread widely through the industry.  In July 2006, Duncan acquired Moore’s interest in the agency and began guiding the company into a new era.  Under Duncan's leadership, Moore & Scarry currently maintains an average 20% quarterly revenue growth rate.  Further, it is one of the fastest growing automotive advertising agencies and the single largest advertising agency between Miami and Tampa.

Ever the entrepreneur, Duncan founded Haystak Digital Marketing in 2012.  What began as the Moore & Scarry Advertising product Haystak (a search marketing platform) developed into a company of its own that provides comprehensive digital marketing for dealers.  Within only eight months of Duncan's launch of the Haystak platform, the product became the nation's third largest automotive search provider.  Further, in 2012 Haystak's total accounts grew by 400%; its work force grew by over 700% and revenue grew by 383%.  In 2013, Haystak Digital Marketing was acquired by VinSolutions™.   

In addition to being named a Google Adwords Premier SMB Partner and a Microsoft Advertising Authorized Reseller, Haystak Digital Marketing was chosen as a Chrysler Digital, Digital Advertising Certified Vendor.  Haystak also founded and sponsors the annual Digital Summit at Mountain View, held at Google's headquarters. 

Through his businesses, Duncan's clients have included the Asbury Automotive Group, Sonic Automotive dealerships, Group 1 dealerships and numerous Automotive News Top 125 Dealership Groups.  In total, he has worked directly with thousands of dealerships across the nation, representing the vast majority of domestic and international manufactures, and dealerships of all types and sizes. 

Duncan has also won many prestigious awards and accolades for his businesses including: a Regional Silver Addy in the television category, nearly twenty National Telly Awards for advertising excellence, an Automotive Website Award for Top Rated Multi-Channel Advertising Solution, the Google AdWords Premier SMB Partner Award for Highest Customer Satisfaction, a Gold Stevie Award for Best New Company and a Bronze Stevie Award for Fastest-Growing Company.  In addition, Both Gulf Coast Business Review and Gulfshore Business named Duncan as a Top 40 Under 40 of business and community leaders.      

A firm believer in sharing his good fortune with others, Duncan supports numerous charitable activities.  These causes regularly include the Pediatric Cancer Foundation, the Vincent Lecavalier Pediatric Cancer & Blood Disorders Center, the Morton Plant Mease Foundation, the American Cancer Society, the Helping Hand Fund, the Sean M. Scarry Memorial Foundation and the Ryon D. Provencher Memorial Fund.  Duncan and his wife Kerri also proudly support the Gulf Coast community with various contributions and sponsorships to the Harry Chapin Food Bank of Southwest Florida, Suncoast Humane Society, the Genesis House for battered women and numerous local children’s little league and soccer clubs.

Duncan lives in Punta Gorda, Florida with his wife, three sons and two dogs, near one of Florida's most pristine harbors.  When not working or traveling, he enjoys spending time with his family.  And whenever possible, Duncan and his sons fish for Tarpon and Red Fish in the harbor.
